Word around NFL is that when Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson get new deals next year, they will come in between $24-$25 million per year.

Source says 49ers are "thrilled" with the Kaepernick deal. They should be. It's a below-market, year-to-year deal. http://wp.me/p14QSB-9uNs

Hey look. Kaep did take a below market deal!

I hardly see how 20 million per season is below market, especially considering he's started for roughly 1.5 yrs, hasn't won a SB, and has been very inconsistent from game to game. The market is what the market is I guess and the 49ers are stuck in a position where they had to pay him, but no way in hell do I give Kaep a deal like that. And no way in hell i'm happy about this if I'm a (rational) 49er fan

lol Crim I don't know if you've ever played basketball inside a gym with no real air circulation... it's frickin terrible.

In football there's more oxygen even in the cold, and your body does it's job of trying to keep your body as warm as possible...

I'd rather play tennis in 40 degrees than in 100 degrees. Cramping is severe and so is dehydration.

I know you're right, but I just thought the picture was funny.:icon_biggrin:

Stahp making excuses. Airconditioning going out is no real biggie. NBA players get regular rest.

Exactly. The market is what the market is and those that follow the game for a living have said this is a team friendly below market deal. I don't know why any 49er WOULDN'T be happy about this deal. You can believe it if you want but Kaep had a bad foot injury last year that prevented his mobility for the majority of the season. There is a reason why all of a sudden he was able to run like crazy in the playoffs.

Now his weapons are among the best in the league so if he doesn't start putting together more gaudy numbers then I would agree with you. Last year though the offensive arsenal around him wasn't all that impressive when you actually break it down. This year is a different story.

Are people actually saying Lebron could have played in his condition last night? The man is a machine and he couldn't even walk. The conditions were absurd for a basketball game. If anyone has ever played basketball and got a cramp they know exactly what Lebron was dealing with last night. No way he could have fought through that.

I completely disagree.
I think it was a huge factor.

If players are out of shape it's a huge factor.

Meanwhile in less than 2 weeks 32 teams will be playing outside in Brazil where it will likely be in the 90s and humid. Including the games played in the freaking Amazon.

I'm saying making a deal about the airconditioning going out is silly.

You realize playing outdoors limits the burden the heat causes right?
