GDT #62, 6/9/14: BRAVES (Winless Floyd) vs. ROCKIES (debut of BERGMAN); 8:40 EDT

He can hit, just doesn't know how to.

I've been saying this for a while. He's a good hitter who is just a work in progress. I know that from a interview that he doesn't work on his hitting much in the summer, well not anywhere near as much as defense.

Just out of curiosity, why do yall think he can hit. Is it bc be doesn't strikeout?

A mix of that and when he's streaking, he stops trying so hard to hit it out of the park, his swing is a thing of beauty. It's like he thinks too hard about it instead of letting it come. His contact numbers being so high is a really solid reasoning too. :)

Certain situations this year and last season mainly he came up with some big hits. Like that big 3 run HR in Washinton last year and the 2 or 3 walk off hits that he had last year. The potential is there, just lacks the proper approach and mechanics. Just my opinion.

Let me ask the same question I asked at the same point in last night's game. Should Fredi leave our starting pitcher in for the 7th inning or should he pinch hit for him?

He's past what's left of the "heavy hitters" of the dipleted lineup...sure, give him another.
