GDT #64. 6/11 Braves(Teheran) @ Rockies(Matzek)

This is pathetic only because I can't think of any other expressions appropriate to a message board.

Matzek has thrown 62 pitches through six innings. I wonder if the Braves have thought perhaps of NOT swinging at the first or second pitch? Nah.

It's not the fact or idea that this kid is making his debut...it's the fact that he's a lefty and they can't hit lefties.

That's not true the Braves have had good success this year against lefties, but this performance tonight is just inexcusable. They're not even trying to make the kid work. How can you shut out at Coors Field, unbelievable.

Actually, he's doing a pretty fair job of doing that to himself. Perhaps before the year is over, BJ might make something other than a lob throw back to the infield after a base hit to centerfield.
 
And no more first place after tonight, the Nats unbelievably are whipping up on the best team in baseball again. They are up 3-0 and have only 1 out in the first inning. Should have buried those SOB's when we had the chance. Missed opportunity for the Braves. I'm starting to change my mind about the Nats, they might be better than I thought they were.
 
Did anyone here laird when he was being asked about fredi being picked as a coach for the ASG & said something about egos in the lockeroom and then correcting himself ?
