If that actually happened the NBA would lose a lot of fans. Well at least real basketball fans anyways. If this happened it would easily put Carmelo in the ultimate douche bag category though. That is downright pathetic to try and win a title.

The whole aspect of a salary cap is to ensure this type of stuff doesn't happen and that the big market teams do not collect superstars. Big time players are SUPPOSED to get top dollars.

I respect the players that are willing to take less money but when it gets to this proportion you are affecting the competitive balance of the league. Melo is an awesome player and if he goes to a team where he isn't the #1 its going to be absurd how much better he is.

Whatever, they want to win. I have no problems with that. They are getting their millions still, and winning. Good for them.

Right, because it is a valid criticism. This is only possible in the NBA, and I find that to be a huge detriment. I don't have a problem with players exploiting it, though. I think Melo to the Heat would be hilarious.

It would be stupid, 3 of the top 10 players in the league and a top 20-25 player in Bosh on the same ****ing team all of them still playing at a high level.

Thats like Rodgers, McCoy, Calvin and Watt on the same team, how ridiculous would that be?

Different league, i know but still.

Bron, Durant, Love, Davis, Paul, Lopez, Westbrook, Melo, Curry, Griffin, Dirk, and the before mentioned Harden. Plus a few I'm probably forgetting.

There was talk about the big 3 restructuring to bring in Melo, but I wonder if Bron would do better going to another team with Melo instead of Wade. While Melo would be out of position as a SG, maybe a move to ATL who has a strong C and PF combo with a decent PG.
