GDT: Braves @ Phillies (July 7, 2013)

Ugh, what a joke. That inning is on Simmons. He needs to wake up and realize what he is.

He thinks he's a homerun hitter. He tries to pull everything.

To be fair though, that was a hard chopper up the middle that found Kendrick's glove.

You were implying that.

I think thats looking into a bit too much. Either way, his hitting skills are often passed over as just luck. Maybe that isn't you but if you don't think thats the case then you aren't paying attention to what has been said on this board.

I agree he won't be an 850 OPS guy (maybe) but I don't think its out of line to think he won't be a 800 type of hitter.

Best place for him to do that would be in the 8th spot.

He absolutely needs to be moved there. Put Uggla or Heyward in the leadoff spot and put Johnson in the two hole.

Heyward
Johnson
Freeman
Uggla
Mac
Justin (temporarily)
BJ
Simmons

Glad we are up 3-0 early but thats been my pet peeve about this ballclub. Lack of killer instinct. Could have put them away..didnt.

Same thing regarding the division race. We should be up 10+ games.

Complaining over with..Hold the lead Hudson. Dont continue the trend here lately of our starters blowing early leads.

Everything that I've seen has said that he's been lucky with his numbers this season, but overall his offensive output just won't make up for his defensive problems. I've always said I like Chris Johnson as part of a platoon and not an everyday player, which I think he would be best utilized. I won't complain at all though as long as he is putting up an .850+ OPS.
