Primaries.

and there is this:

"But on the policy issues and political ramifications of this race, it’s not easy to box Brat into a neat caricature of an anti-immigration zealot or Tea Party demagogue, or, in Time’s hasty reporting, a “shopworn conservative boilerplate.” If Brat ascends to Congress, which is quite likely given the Republican-leaning district that he’ll run in as the GOP nominee, he may actually continue taking on powerful elites in Washington."

Brat sounds like an "Elizabeth Warren" on the right, minus membership in the Cherokee Nation.

no, if he was an Elizabeth Warren he would have won a statewide election vs a candidate with an over 40% approval rating

As opposed to a House primary garnering only 36K votes where it was estimated 10K of those were (D) crossover ... but hey, the "Backbencher" took it on the chin. All the way to K Street

Elizabeth Warren ---- indeed

Yeah, I imagine Cantor will be using the old Liberace line, "I cried all the way to the bank." I'm sure he's embarrassed and hurt, but that will wear off once he quadruples his salary on K Street.

Wondering if he is in line for a Jim DeMint think tank position -- or has he burned those bridges.
Will be fascinating to see where he lands.

Comparing him to EW is ludicrous

You're the one who post the article first making the comparison. SMH at you 57. Loosen up.

DeMint and Cantor ain't exactly in the same club.

They appear to agree on an issue. It would be nice to see them co-sponsor legislation should Brat get to Washington.

We'll see on DeMint and Cantor. Y'all may be right in that DeMint is preferring behind the scenes and Cantor has ChuckSchumer-itis

There will be tons of opportunities for Cantor if he chooses to stay in D.C. He can be a letterhead lawyer if nothing else. He always struck me as a bright guy with whom I disagreed about a lot of things. I think of him in the same light as Norm Coleman, who was beaten by Al Franken here in Minnesota. Norm is a polished guy (who I don't really care for) and after he lost, he had no trouble landing in D.C.
