GDT 7/23/13: Braves (Medlen) @ Mets (Torres) 7:10 PM

I'm very concerned about this team, they can't string wins together, they've had an easy schedule out of the all-star break and yet they've lost three out five in that stretch. They are one game over .500 since their 12-1 start and the primary reason they can't get any prolonged winning streak is their offense. They are terribly inconsistent and that is going to be their undoing.
 
Guys who should be carrying us (Upton/Heyward) aren't doing CRAP. And guys who were hot early on (Gattis) isn't coming through. Mac/Freeman can't do it all.
 
So far this year the Braves are 17-9 against Pitt, Cin, Arz, and La. Haven't played the cardinals yet. Obviously this team can't compete in the playoffs.

Hard to win if u cant score.

Sad thing is we should easily have another 2-4+ game lead in the division

All this team does is string wins and losses together. Very streaky.
 
This is so sad to watch......need a team only meeting? Release Walker? Make a significant trade. They are living a fortunate life with Nats and Phillies struggling worst than the Braves. Heck Mets could find themselves in the hunt soon. When is the last time this team won a series? Had any kind of winning streak?
 
This team will start stringing winning streaks and series wins once Mike Adams returns here.

the story tonight is we couldn't beat a 30 yr old bum who's been dumped by two bad organization in two years and couldn't crack the Mets rotation until they had 10 guys get hurt and has never thrown 80 pitches in a ML game and so on. We hit a lot of balls hard, foul, because we try to pull everything and left a bunch of guys on base, as usual.

And Kris Medlen, who used to be really good, got outpitched by this bum.

It's a fair point, but the regular season and postseason are two different animals. We played one good series and one bad series against the Pirates. Reds, we played pretty well. Arizona, we played pretty well. Dodgers are a different team than the one we took 5 of 7 from. When we get in the postseason against these teams, we won't have the advantage of potentially dodging their aces and what not.

Does this team have the talent to compete? Of course. Will they compete if they continue to play like that have since mid to late April? No. Sorry.
