Sporting News Piece On If The 1994 Strike Didn't Happen

lol that article is pretty funny. I love the assumption that winning the world series means instant revenue for years to come.

I wonder how effin' drunk he was when he wrote that.

There's always this whining for poor Felipe Alou and the guy seemed to be such a d*ck.

What a piece of crap article. An Expos WS title causes the Braves to move to Washington??? Now if piece had been written about Braves baseball from 1986-1990, when the Braves caught flack for being a studio team then fine. Fantasy articles are fun to write, but at least have a thread of plausibility in the piece. By 1994, the Braves had been an NL power for three full years and there was no chance of relocation regardless of the 1994 season outcome. What a piece of garbage. I think I will send this post to the writer.

Who remembers those cyber stats baseball cards? They predicted the stats of each player or something.

I think it is quite an assumption that the Expos even win the division, sure they had a 6 game lead, but the Braves overcame larger leads, and they still had Maddux Glavine Smoltz and Avery. After all it is basically the same team that won 104 games the prior year.

It's a pretty good assumption. In order for the Braves to have been able to overcome that deficit, they would to have had some help in form of Expos collapse or series sweeps in head to head meetings. Despite the "party line" about the consecutive division championships, the realist in me believes that the Expos would've not only held on but probably gone on to take it all that year. The Expos had a top shelf team that year. Fans in Montreal legitimate reason to be pissed.
