Cameron and Gonzalez. He made an inside run Gonzalez as the central back should have assisted. It was a great goal for them, everything went perfectly. If that had been the US's luck he would have headed it right at Timmy.

All that matters is it's 2 games and we should have 6 points. We were the better side and if we keep playing like this we'll get a result vs Germany that should see us through. Basically as it sits right now for Ghana to get ahead of us, they need to beat Portgual by 2+ or we need to lose to Germany by 2+ for them to have a shot. Then if they don't do that they need to get ahead on the goals scored. If not it goes head to head we win. Portugal winning is the ideal result for us.

5 was incredibly excessive. Sure we had a pair of injuries. but 5 minutes for that was excessive since Portugal had 2 injuries in the first and 2 minutes were added on.
 
So is USA screwed or can they still make it to the Round of 16.

They're honestly in pretty good shape.

But damn it would feel a hell of a lot better to have punched our ticket (and would only need a draw to win the group and draw Russia/Algeria instead of Belgium)

US wins or draws they advance. Ghana/Portugal draws US advances.

US then goes into tie breakers if they lose and Ghana and Portugal wins. Right now because of the drubbing the German gave the Portuguese them beating Ghana is ideal for us. Since we're +5 on GD righ tnow with them.
 
I am no expert but I feel like we're in great position. Even if we lose 2-1 and Ghana wins 2-1 we would advance, correct? We are +1 while Ghana is -1?

Well yes we would advance in that scenario. Though we'd at that point both be 0 because we'd have equal total goals and then the third tie breaker is head to head result. Basically the US needs to keep it within 1 of the Germans and the other game to be a GD the US can live with. If Portugal wins as long as they don't score 5 goals and have a +4 or more, if Ghana wins needs to be 2-1

People should root for who they choose. He's not rooting for a team though, he's trolling by rooting against America. I don't want to ban him, but he better not cry because he's being treated hostile. And I woudl give everyone on this board free reign to treat him as trolls are treated on the internet.

This. HATE hockey, LOVE national soccer. Like women's even more. To me it's the same thing, but less diving, usa is amazing, and the players are hot.

Also I really hope we can draw Germany, cause Portugal looks like crap to my untrained eye. Germany killed them, and I feel we could have easily won 3-0. Cristiano also looked like crap until that cross imo. I'm really afraid Ghana might whoop Portugal, hope I'm wrong.

I'm hoping that last cross sparks Ronaldo and they win 3-0 and come up short of advancing. But I want to win. There's talk of the US and Germany punting it but that doesn't fit Klinsmann or Low's style of coaching. Neither wants to mail it in ever. Also you have 2 seperate battles, coach vs old team he helped build and student vs master, I don't see those 2 settling. I want to beat Germany. I really want to walk out of the group of death with the top seed.

And I second you about women players being hot, but there's plenty of diving still, especially in the hispanic nations.

Well hopefully you stay hooked. I know you're on long island but you have Redbulls and soon to be playing NYCFC you'll have some good MLS around you. Though NYCFC is ran by Man City and the Yankees so **** them.

I'm normally a go all out for the win type of guy. I'm a lefty in golf and I play like old Mickelson, going for the amazing shot everytime over the safe shot, but I'm not ganna lie, I'd be ok with a 0-0 draw. Probably cause I just don't see us actually beating Germany, a draw I could see but a win will be tough. Granted I only watch WC and WC qualifying matches so I'm no genius on the topic, hope I'm wrong.

And ya there is still diving(Brazil vs USA last WC, was sooo mad,) but still less imo.
