I'll take that bet. When the Gorn comes back, you can't release Laird. Eddie Perez is the bullpen catcher/manager so there is no other position for Laird.
He has a bulging disc. Even when he comes back, it will probably be a year long problem.

Well, that's true, better than halfway through the season and Gattis is the first position player to go to the DL, and tonight is the first time all year the Nats have had their regular lineup in. Hey, I despise the Nats has much as anyone else, but I at least try to be fair and objective.
Nats have surrendered their lead.
How is he wrong?
I hate the Nats too but the Nats have had tons of injuries to it's Starting 8 (DL), while Atl minus Gattis hasnt.
Not saying Atl hasnt had any injuries either but the Nats have hardly been injury-free. Both teams are good, and i'll leave it there.

Eh I think Gattis has more than just a disc that is bulging. He is a man!
Yeah, but Laird's entire uni is a bulge.

Difference, read closely, the pundits say the reason why they haven't ran away from the division is because of injuries, just completely ignoring arguably our best two starters, Medlen and Beachy. It's like Atlanta doesn't exist to them. It's Nats and everyone else and if they aren't winning, then they come out with excuses which we cannot use.
Oh, yeah, i agree.
The media has their nuts up the Nats jock.
MLBN, especially.
Braves are now seven games over .500. Not great but a lot better than where we were a week ago. If you look at ESPN's standings, it shows six teams as having a better chance of making the playoffs than Atlanta. They show the Braves' chances at 42% while the Nationals' are at 69%. Needless to say I don't understand the metrics that favor Washington's chances so strongly.

30 or so days to the trade deadline. Laird could be moved easily if Gattis is back before the trade deadline. Or if he comes back they in August they can just DL Laird with a headache or something until September 1st.
No way Fredi lets the front office trade his twin brother.
