GDT: 6/30/'14 Atlanta Braves vs. NY Mets

So, according to Jayson Stark, before their game last night Bryce Harper made out his own lineup card and gave it to Matt Williams. The lineup suggested the positions everyone should play, and the lineup did not include Denard Span.

What a tool.

Bryce Herpes did what?

If I were Matt Dawg, I would be insulted.

The best team in baseball would not be 9-13 in one-run games nor 2-7 in extra inning games like the Natinals are.

The Braves, OTOH, are 16-10 in one-run games and 5-4 in extra inning games.

According to expected W/L record, the Natinals should have a 5.5 game lead over Atlanta right now.

So the Padres are the best team in baseball? (17-9 in 1 run games)

I dont think it woulda cost Teheran for Span.

Maybe Graham and another P at the time.

This is actually not true, but do you have link to where Stark says it?

What the Nats would do when Harper came back has been a hot topic in these parts. So, all the players have been asked about it over and over again. The origin of this story is Adam Kilgore asking Harper how he would make the lineup card out.

It was on Mike and Mike.

I read Harper's comments. What he said was bad enough.

Gilesfan-- Harper was not "baited" to say those things about Span or Williams' lineup card... its well covered that he, in fact, offered more than just his opinion on who should take the field. He also criticized his own manager's lineup for hitting the anointed one sixth.

Face it- he needs a fastball in the ear like you need to pick a team.

We had a lot of options not named Teheran. Trouble is, if we had shipped the Twins Delgado, we would have been short parts to get Upton the Younger.

Maybe something like Graham and Gilmartin for Span would have gotten it done, but it's all conjecture.

My only point is that Span is a pretty good ballplayer who really flies below the radar.

Yeah, it actually is. No baiting here. Just douchery.

One run games are often time luck and the results of good/bad bullpen.

Pythagoras? He's the guy who jumped in the bathtub and all the water splashed out, like Harang and I did in the whirlpool last night, amirite?

Was just about to say. Am I just not seeing it or what? Guess everyone has been too wrapped up in the World Cup...
