GDT - 7/9/2014 - Braves at Mets

Watch we get shut out by the tub of lard again tommorow yah! I had a feeling that we weren't coming back from 2-1 after 4-1 I decided to go do something productive

I'll never understand how anyone can defend CJ. He's terrible in all facets of the game.

Would we be much worse off with Terdo playing there? Or anyone other than maybe Uggla?

The dude has got to go. He has no concept of how to hit. I still can't believe he swung at that 2-0 pitch.

You have to admit...with those two fat asses going tomorrow, the matchup is a bit compelling.

No I don't mind him swinging at that 2-0 pitch. It was a belt high fastball right down the middle and he touched him off to deep center in game 1. What pisses me off is the fact that he was late as hell on it and got jammed. Put your fckn foot down and put a swing on it and drive it outta here.

It's pretty much common sense in that situation to take and make him throw strikes. If you are going to swing, you better do a lot more with it than that. But he can't. Three homers all year. He is bad.

Attention wren this offense sucks how about putting together an offense that is actually productive I honestly have no idea why j up and Freddie get anything to hit no one else is useful right now

Love how the mets announcers think that gee accomplished something it's not like he's facing a team that actually scores on a regular basis

I turned to another channel. What did Joe say?

Paul Byrd was much more insightful.

Byrd said " Its about timing in getting that big hit and some players go their whole career with having that nag to get the big hit and no1 on this team does. And it also comes down to approach...you have to be willing to put your ego to the side for a little bit and take that 3 quater swing to hit the ball the other way to drive guys in".

He's dead on right there.

Not to demean Paul Byrd here, but that would hold much more weight with me if a hitter like Brian Jordan said it instead of a pitcher. That being said though he's right. All this team needs to do is look at the approach they took in their 9-game winning streak and see the results there.

What did he say, I was watching Wesley Wright pitch for the Cubs.

A couple things. First, talking about the team's offensive streakiness and how it's easy to lose 5-6 in a row because of that. Also, our inability once again to get runners in late.

And, he talked about how good of a baseball player David Wright is and how he took advantage of yet another sorry play in the OF from an Upton.
