I could live with Johnson's glove and lack of speed and even his .275 BA if he had about 35 more walks and 35 less strikeouts. You just can't strike out 25% of the time without hitting HR's.

He's universally graded out as a bad defensive 3B, scouts and numbers wise.

What "hate"?
There's a difference between simply hating on a player and being honest about him. CJ has been terrible this year. Sure, he's the best we've got. What does that mean?

3B is the weakest spot in baseball league-wide, half of baseball is looking to upgrade their 3B spot.

He is adequate. I disagree with the metrics, or more specifically, the degree to which he is dinged. He's not that bad and it's not that important. He makes the plays he needs to make. And I've heard several scout opinions along the same lines.

This is fair criticism. I like plate discipline, as well. This is where he's been lacking this year. He'll never take a lot of walks, but he needs to command the zone better.
Maybe they should hit La Stella just ahead of him, give him a tangible reminder before each at bat for a while.
Hopefully he keeps it up. We need the CJ from last year and not the one to this point this year.

Man, some people are never gonna let go of Johnson's slow start to the season. CJ was hitting .236 on May 5th. Now he is at .278, that's around a .300 batting average since that point.

And as I've pointed out, it's almost completely empty. Low walks, almost no power (save for the last 2 games).

This, we cant have a superstar at every spot.
Although Uggla/BJ's contract dont help in that regard with our cap room.

Full season, he's last in the NL in WAR. Last in wRC+. 2nd to last in ISO. Last in OBP. Last in BB%. 2nd worst K%. Last in SLG%.
That ain't average.
