GDT: Atlanta Braves @ NY Mets, July 25th 2013 - Wood Rises Up To the Occasion

If this is how Simmons wants to hit, at least move him down so the occasional HR will be with runners on.

I'm sorry. It's my day off, and i dont need his negativity effing up the one day game ive gotten to watch this year. The wife took the cat to her parents for the day and left me with a twelver of coors and moes take out. dont you ruin this for me, grayson.

Understood. I just don't want people to get into the habit of doing this. Perhaps I will make a Vent thread.

Gotcha...sorry to pile on.
Both chill out ok.

Grayson, it's well documented that this team has struggled for a while now. It was mentioned about 300 times in the GDT yesterday, and I've seen it in the Trade Rumors thread as well.

Let's not continue beating the dead horse and enjoy the game in front of us win---or lose. :cooter:

I'm still bummed over the Huddy news. I expect losing him will hurt the most when we face Philly and the Nats. He's been great vs the Nats and was great vs Philly his last start too. When he starts vs them we win, that's hard to replace IMO.

BTW, why isn't Heyward playing over Justin today? Justin isn't running well and isn't hitting at all. So we sit Heyward and not him? I don't get it.

Sorry...enjoy your beer and Moes. Wish I had both.

Wood's velocity is down today. I don't think the yo-yoing from the pen to rotation is goof for him

Generally, pitchers velocity is going to be down because you're conserving energy by stretching it out over 5-6 innings as opposed to gassing it for an inning or two.

Unless you're Justin Verlander and can throw 100mph into the 7th inning after 80 pitches.

I don't know. I'm pretty sure I read scouting reports that had him in the low 90's consistently in AA.

Wood didn't get any breaks today. That was a bad error by Freeman there. It should've been a DP and inning over. I hope it doesn't cost us any runs.

Why in the hell are we bringing in Loe in this situation?

You've come to the right place my friend.

This is the place for Fredi's Bullpen Management Tips.
