World Travel

Anywhere in Europe, I'd love to go. So much history there.

Number one place I want to go is Austria. So incredibly beautiful.

I would pick Thailand. So many ladyboys there!

My time in Europe I never made it to Eastern Europe. I went to Czech, but that was as the only eastern block I made it to. Australia would be my choice though.

There is no other place in Europe there and northern Italy (Venice region) in late Spring full bloom. I never made it to the fjords as I heard they a beautiful in their own right. The air seems to be so fresh and crisp.

Where would you go tomorrow if you could? Say you've got funds and time for a 2 week adventure. Where are you going? Is it somewhere you've been before or not? And why would you choose this destination(s)?

well, since you asked tomorrow

that changes my answer cause i was going to say Antarctica and this isn't the time to visit

so, I guess my answer would be Spain/Morocco although i'm not sure 2 weeks is enough time but I would go with that i think. Anything in Asia would be too long to get there to stay for that short of a time. same for down under again as well. I haven't been to Spain or Morocco but they have always been on my list.

Cuba would be my other choice as well

I'd fly to London, rent a car and drive north, seeing how much golf, theatre and Scotch Whiskey I could experience for 10 days. Then on to Ireland for golf, fiddle music and Guinness.

While there are so many places in the US I'd love to go and a bunch of places overseas number 1 on my list is backpacking through belgium hitting all the various Breweries that I can.

Beer from there is too similar to American beer. Dutch and German beer have something about them to make them foreign tasting, especially when breweries are on the "herbisch", "Doppelbock" or "Hefenweizen" side. I have a feeling you do not care much for those types of beers.

Lived in England from 1986 to 1989, kind of blah to me but if you like golfing, you won't be disappointed. I just hope you get a dry period because their weather truly is like Seattle, Washington.

Turkey. Or Hungary (which I missed, on my last tour of Europe). Or Iran, if things there were a little easier.

But instead I'm going to Burma for a week-and-a-half on Wednesday.

Good luck in Burma. That place has come along way in a few years but still has a long way to go.

I went to Turkey a couple of years ago - Istanbul, Izmir, Ephesus, etc. Loved it. Visited Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia just after their departure from the Soviet orbit. Budapest was really cool and cheap.

nice bump of this thread

seeing my nearly 2 years ago it makes me happy that all of July and into August for the most part I am finally going to Spain and Morocco

no doubt

visited when the military still ran it

they took my passport away and held it at the border

great place and would love to go back and see more and have less restrictions than i did the time i visited

the sad thing about Turkey is how much the Islamist have taken control. 10 year since my visit when locals were scared about them taking control and it has happened finally :(

only been to Budapest in Hungary but loved it and the country if full of beautiful women

Iran has been on my list for a LONG time and the only thing stopping me is the gov't of Iran. they make you jump through hoops and you have to have a gov't person with you etc etc etc

still would go though and hope the better relations here recently open it and make it easier to visit

Yeah, the Islamists are ruining it. Got friends who had been living there who aren't going back. Can't blame them. It might be one of those countries you better visit now.

Yep

Istanbul is one of my favorite cities i have spent time in and oddly enough a friend today who travels said "You have been to Turkey or at least Istanbul, right? Cause it might be a while before it is "safe" to visit"

sad what has come of that country for the most part and it was a crazy idea that any of it would have happened 10 years ago
