GDT: 07/22/2014 Marlins (Turner) @ Braves (Minor)

The ol' Maddux special of 2 hour complete games. I have the game on mute -- was that Eric Gregg calling balls and strikes for that Maddux vs. Cubs game?

That's not really accurate anymore. They've been moving away from the HR for a couple of months now. They're improving in their approach but it does feel like except for Freeman and maybe Justin, we've got a lot of hitters who should be batting 6th or 7th.

Jason would be a perfect leadoff hitter if he were 5' 11" or 6 ft.
 
Last year was not a fluke for Minor he had turned the corner... So what is wrong with Minor? Usually it's homers 6 runs today none on homers.. They need to get Minor fixed id even consider sending him down to AAA... He has never been this bad... Soon to be 2 games back because the Rockies suck and I bet they get swept

By all or nothing I mean ice cold or hot. They don't have average streaks.
 
I've been racking my brain over the last few minutes thinking what could possibly be done to help the offense. I'm not exactly going out on a limb when I say many wish B.J. Upton would be traded. But, that contract. Only way I could see a possibility is taking on another albatross contract in Matt Kemp (who apparently the Dodgers are wanting to move). But even then, you'd probably have to include a third team and the cash involved would make it a very complicated deal.

To put it another way, keep wishing.
 
If the Braves want to go somewhere in the second half they can't just keep waiting on this offense to produce consistently or for Minor to just figure it out. I'm sick and tired of this **** against teams we should be beating.
 
Simmons 2 for his last 20 .100 BA
Freeman 2 for his 28 .071
BJ 3 for his last 28 .107
CJ 5 for his last 25 .192

Not going to win many games when 4 out of 8 starters are hitting 11 for their last 131 combined (.083)....That is bad bad bad baseball folks...
