I might be the only one with Zito here. It is a bummer that he died (especially with the way it happened) but it has no bearing on me and I won't let it affect my life in anyway. I'm always puzzled at people that get really upset over this, especially when they've never met the person.

His latest TV Show, The Crazy Ones, was pretty enjoyable.
 
I second the motion how people are hurt when someone they don't personally know passes. It makes me question if those people have had losses close to them in their life. Lose a mother when you are 8 years old. Thats true sadness.
 
I'm at work this morning making a living. There's nothing wrong with taking a minute to be sad and then remember the good things about him. There's something out there called empathy. It was a dumb thing to say by an intelligent poster.

I think its a matter of perspective. Do I think it sucks that Robin Williams died? Of course I do. He was someone that brought joy to millions of people. Am I particularly upset that he is no longer with us? Honestly, it doesn't really matter one way or another to me. Maybe I'm jaded because I lost my mother but I just don't see how anyone can be upset over someone passing that they have never met or had a conversation with. It just seems odd to me.

There's a story about FDR when his funeral motorcade was driving through the streets, and thousands were mourning one journalist saw a particular poor man in tears. He asked the man if he knew FDR and the man responded "No, but he knew me."

Maybe it's a stretch to compare Robin to a President, but he brought joy to many and many can relate to some of his roles and the feelings he was able to portray.
 
I think that when we hear of an entertainer passing it brings back memories of where we were and who we were with while we were watching his/her movies. We yearn for simpler and easier times as when we were kids growing up and laughing at his movies with friends and family members not in our lives anymore and now that he has passed it makes us realize that we are older and life is different if that makes sense?

I think it's a little odd that so many people are upset with his passing but I was never a big fan of his stuff so I guess I don't have some sort of connection to his movies. Thethe is it the same with you? Not a big fan?

I wouldn't consider myself a huge fan but I enjoyed his stand up and the movies he was in. I just don't understand the outpour of emotion for his passing. Lets remember him for being someone who brought joy to us all and mourn his passing. But to get upset over it to where it affects you just seems wrong to me. But, to each his own.
