This team is HORRIBLE!

This team isn't horrible and this team isn't good. It's a mediocre team... And it performs like one. It's has good streaks here bad streaks there, good one week, bad another week.... It's just consistently inconsistent.

Reason I'm so hard on Fredi is because the REASON we're mediocre is due to so many guys underperforming under him.... All of our starters can do better than what they've down, even the ones still having good years like Freddie and Justin (although still not complaining... they're doing well)

I was one of Cox's biggest haters because of his in game managing (which DID suck) but since he's left, more and more I've seen the value of how he had scrubs come in time and time again, make them feel comfortable and get the most out of them, leading us to division titles. Fredi just doesn't have it. Our club needs a new guy running the car. Who? I don't know. But needs a new one.

Except we will be a half game outside of a playoff spot after tonight. How is that mediocre?

Um, plenty of really good teams have done it in baseball and in football. Do I need to cite them all?

Braves started 17-7 and are 56-60 since. They've been all over the place. Up and down hitting. Pretty much the walking definition of mediocre this season. NL is pretty down in general this year.

I'm guessing now you meant how can a team be mediocre and make the playoffs.

The Braves may be in the top third of the league this year. Doesn't mean they're not a mediocre team. They've been one since late April.
 
Its one good month. That's not worthy of making the playoffs. I'm sorry its just not. The Pirates honestly deserve the spot if they can get it.
 
Honestly I think how we play the Nats determines if we have a shot at the WC. They look better this last month and anything 500 or worse vs them puts us in a big hole compared to the giants and brewers (and pirates)

No one deserves a spot. Everyone gets 162 games and the best team in each division gets to go on and the 2 next best teams get to duke it out for a shot at the playoffs.

If you can't do it in 162 games, you don't deserve jack squat.
 
No matter how you look at it. There is not a team in contention afraid of us. After May 1 all we have done is languish at 4-5 under .500 for four solid months. Y'all can be proud of that if you want. But, you can hear it in the vets voices they know they haven't played well enough to be taken seriously as a threat. Joe Simpson knows it too. There has been exasperation in his voice several times this year.

Yes it was worded wrong. The Braves aren't mediocre or horrible. Anybody that thinks so is foolish.

Somewhere in Brewerland a brewer fan I'd saying the same thing of his team. They started like 10-2 and they have been worse than the braves since then. I don't know what kind of team you think wins the second Wild card but it's rarely going to be a good team. All of this mirror looking and making other teams afraid is nonsense worthy or Skip Bayliss. Momentum is as good as the next days starter. The regular season and playoffs are different, maybe we will be better suited for the playoffs. There is one team we know we can beat and it's the team we would likely face if we win the play in game. If an 84 win cardinal team can win the world series why not the Braves? We have the pitching to compete with anyone but the Dodgers.
