Apparent Coaching Changes

With Fredi now safe, I think he does have to be on a hot seat. We're still going to be in a position, with a couple tweaks, to make a playoff run, provided we can stay reasonably healthy. If we have another year like this year, he has to be gone. No excuse.

I'm trying to decide which MLS team I'm gonna start rooting for. Cause I'll need something to entertain me next summer. Currently the Revolution are my local team, but maybe I move back to NJ and the Bimbos or Red Bulls become my team. Or do I root for an USMNT heavy team like Sporting KC or Houston Dynamo. Or a team like Colorado who has 2 young US internationals. Lots of hard choices to make since baseball clearly isn't in my best interest to follow. maybe if they extend Jason and Justin I'll have something to be excited about.

We'll miss you. But leave your avatar.

It isn't. But my interest in the Braves is likely dying. Don't know if I can really invest my interest in a team that I know won't live up to it's abilities unless all the other teams in the division **** the bed.

S-it happens man I'm just as irritated with this year as everyone but come next year I'll be all in for the Braves same as every year. Every year is a new opportunity.

I will hope the Braves win, but to me next year feels a lot like 08 did to me. Except back then I was fine with our offense, it was our pitching that made me sick, 2009 was a year of slight optimism because we added Lowe, Vaz, and the intriguing Kawakami, but mainly because the next wave of prospects was on the way, Hanson was ready, Jason and Freddie were on their way, and many other exciting things were happening, but this feels very 2008, no real exciting prospects to introduce, giant holes in our team, and nearing the end with one of our great players, now it's someone much younger between Jason and Justin, but back then who knew when Chipper's last year would be.

To me there's no point being excited for next year right now. Hopefully the FO gives me a reason but it seems like right now everything is about getting ready for the new stadium and that's gonna be done with Frediot at the helm.

I'm with you Zito. I just can't continue to watch an organization that clearly doesn't care about winning and puts missed placed loyalty ahead of the team.

The one thing I noticed about the photo is that the dude in the middle is the only one wearing a tie. And it is hideous.

That would be Steve Bryant, the owner of the Mudcats. The old adage "Build it and they will come" is what the Mudcats stadium is all about. Bryant first wanted to build a stadium in downtown Raleigh years ago, but the Durham Bulls (Miles Woff at the time) claimed jurisdiction of Bulls territory. So Steve Bryant took a compass and did a radius circle on a map of the territory and the very outside of it landed in a tobacco field off Hwy 64 bypass. He bought the land and over the years the stadium has gotten better and better. Used to be double A, but has been A the last 2 or 3 years. Looking forward to seeing Braves come thru like I did when Chipper, Javy, Avery, etc. came thru Durham.

Can't wait to see what special assistant we hire next. I think we should just have a special assistant for every position in the organization.

DOB is now reporting this as well.

Dascenzo, Fletcher and Walker out.

Bo Porter is in.

Looks like those are the only moves that will be made on the big league club. Just need to hire a hitting coach.

Someone that must approve Fredi's lineups before every game. Or I could just write a quick program that he runs the lineup through. It would look something like this:

for (int intLineupPosition = 0; intLineupPosition < 9; intLineupPosition++)
{
int intJerseyNumber = Lineup[intLineupPosition].JerseyNumber;
if ((Roster[intJerseyNumber].OBP < 0.3) && (intLineupPosition < 6))
{
Call BurnLineup();
Call BenchFrediForTheNight();
}
}

I knew someone who bought a program to rip people off at online poker. One day, he didn't like what the program did with a pair of jacks so he tweaked it and quickly lost everything. I think that's what we would see from Fredi, except he wouldn't like what the program did with a pair of jackasses.

Fredi knows talent when he sees it.

If we can't unload BJ or decide the return is not worth any problems with his brother, a distinct possibility on both fronts, he needs to be the 4th outfielder/pinch-runner guy. Nothing more. Schafer, basically, with a little more production and a lot more money.
