Apparent Coaching Changes

How are you gonna do that? You can barely type.

I got good at hen pecking with my left, but this is truly getting on my nerves. Type hundreds of lines of code each day is tedious. Try hitting the "A" key with my pinky feels like my body is assaulted by needles. Oh I have Cubital Tunnel Syndrome and I do not wish this on anyone. I can take getting my guts spilled out and reattached, but this is way worse as the pain never goes away.

But getting back to topic, how will the new management approach the draft? The old way was pitching heavy with a few we thought were really good but did not pan out. Wouldn't it be better just get the best player available? We missed out on some good players, Trout being one of them, right?

Will Chipper teach them to bunt?

Just watching Ramos in the Nats game, I don't know if it's that the modern player can't bunt or if they don't recognize pitches they can successfully bunt. It's kind of one in the same, but there are two elements and you have to master both.

that was with 2 strikes !!!
How's bout 50, pitchers don't throw buntable pitches in bunting situation. That was the case with Ramos - w/ 2 strikes SF pitcher threw fastball right down the pipe.

Isn't baseball a fun game ??

That's true 57. I was just surprised that Bumgarner threw two killer pitches on strikes 1 and 2 and then serves up a lollipop that Ramos can bunt.

I guess my point is that the art of bunting has eroded to the point where the hitter almost needs to have a lollipop to bunt. Old-time bunters like Nellie Fox from the 1950s up to guys like Jay Bell in the 1980s and 1990s seemed to be able to bunt just about anything.

Give glav a raise. He's already a special assistant to the gm make him the bunting instructor during spring.

The idea of having our pitcher take bunting practice is fine and dandy until someone breaks a bone, gets hit in the head, jams a finger, etc. Then the organization is a bunch of morons.

Bring the DH to both leagues, pitchers are a joke offensively.

Don't remember any of that happening to Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Millwood, Hudson, Neagle, etc. And they were solid bunters for the most part.

And could it have been because they were aproduct of a different era? And I doubt those guys spent a long time taking bunting practice. Stab in the dark, they probably have much better hand eye than the guys who suck at bunting.
