C'mon this talk about responsibility of the parents and testing are so mamby pamby and have nothing to do with the actual device that is the common denominator in ALL shootings.

Well 57, I still believe someone has the right to own a gun strictly for self-defense for them and their family.

Which is exactly why I worded it to parent's licensed guns. If it's that easy for a child or teen to get access to his parents gun, there's something wrong.

people are required to jump thru more hoops today to bring a dog or cat home from the pound than to own a licensed gun for home protection !
I dont see that self defense need, but understand others do. But, after (in 57 world) taxation and other regulatory restrictions -- perhaps .
Let's strive to get to where a gun for self protection is no longer felt necessary. It is being done in other parts of the world
Let's go a step further -- let's hold the manufacturers responsible even before the parents. Parents aren't buying Beemers off of gun sales.
Why are people so willing to give these enablers a free pass ??
Somewhere along the line someone made money off of the bullets used in the Marysville shooting. To my mind that is criminal

Let's come down hard on car manufacturers too if someone hurts another in a car wreck, after all it's on the manufacturers then if someone does something in their product!

I think those with illegal guns should have even harsher punishments.
But the majority of murders are done with illegal guns. So are liberals worried about all gun violence or just when it happens against white kids in schools?

Only white kids in school. If this was an all black school, not a peep would be said, gang related would be the MO. I don't know of any black student opening up on kids in a school due to psychological issues, now if it is gang retaliation, that is more plausible.

if you want to do something about guns, you need to do something about all guns, not just focus on the reason for a minority of the tragic deaths used by guns.
I wouldn't be opposed to moving in that direction.
Besides, I've been hunting before and shooting an animal from a distance isn't really all it's cooked up to be. You want to go hunting, do it with your hands, knives, and traps set for the animals.
Hell even go Legolas and shoot arrows.

I agree though, I want to make an old school bow and practice shooting in the woods somewhere. When the country does turn upside down with riots everywhere, won't need any gun silencers, because the bow and arrow will be stealthy enough to do the job.

Put down my rifle when I was 13, and haven't pulled that trigger since except when I went spot and stalking in Tx back in 99. Bow hunting has exploded in that time frame.
