Not true, the Braves have a track record of doing this as Zito, Rico and others have noted with a lot of names (see the past threads on the topic). One name I added to that list of note was John Smoltz.

I don't recall anyone ****ting on Smoltz.

There was a lot of it in the media after he wasn't re-signed and left for Boston via free agency. A lot of fans went with the organization making him out as the one to blame thanks to the spin. I don't know how you missed it as much as the situation was debated on fan forums back then.

So bad mouthing doesn't count if you consider it "discussing a contract dispute"? It got so nasty with Smoltz that he refused to sign a one day contract to retire as a Brave (look up him talking about it on the Dan Patrick show back then). Further, I'll let Zito and Rico cover those they listed as I don't have the time.

They pretty much destroyed Brett Semus' career and erased him from memory.

Again, where is the evidence that this dispute was leaked into the media saying that Smoltz was a bad guy.

There were blatant stories released about Leo when he wasn't brought back and similar things are being said of Wren now.

There was NOTHING even close to resembling this with anyone else that you guys are mentioning.

I absolutely love this hire. I'm not saying he is going to turn us instantly into a barnburner offense over night and work miracles, BUT this is the type of guy we need as I believe his approach and philosophy is going to have a great impact on the younger more talented offensive players on this roster, that have yet to even reach their potential.

And more importantly, once again like the approach that Hart and the Braves took and interviewed quality candidates. The final candidates were Seitzer, Dave Magedon, and Bill Meuhler, all quality options. Compare that to what Wren did in his past two interview processes: offer the job to the first guy he talked to in Parrish that had no experience or track record the first go round, and worse yet on the second go round hired the first guy that was let go by his previous team. It was no mystery as a lot of the same failures that Walker had in Chicago, showed up in Atlanta. Good guy, just not the right person in the right situation.

Fredi doesnt make our lineup hit like ****, stop it with this nonsense.

Fredi puts the lineup out there, he cant magically wave a magic wand and make them hit, the hate you guys give Fredi is borderline crazy, hell it is.

That's what I was saying it doesn't matter who the hitting coach is when FG is so effing clueless as to let BJ bat at top of lineup for half the season, have CJ bating cleanup, the list could go on and on. Then to top off not having a clue how to construct a lineup he has no clue how to use a bullpen. So no matter what hitting coach, player, GM we bring in as long as FG is at the helm the Braves will at best be a mediocre playoff team.

What is crazy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result so the only one crazy is the person expecting anything different from the Braves and FG.
