GDT: Braves @ Phillies (July 7, 2013, SERIOUSLY)

Welp, that's a load of crap. How many triples are you going to give up today, Medlen?

I'm starting to worry about the Nats. Yeah, I know they're getting a huge break by playing the Padres who can't beat anybody right now. But the Braves need to get their act together because the Nats are starting to play well and their lead can dissippate in a hurry. After today it's already going to be down to 4.

Im not worried about the Nats. Im worried about the Braves. Playing .500 baseball since the 12-1 start. Its not that we are playing hard and just getting beat by better team...or maybe our hot start was just a HUGE fluke. I hate to be complaining but this lead might be at 4 after today and thats just hard to believe at this point.

Ballgame over and for the first time in 40 days, the Braves lead will be down under 5 games. This team just can't get anymore win streaks together because they are way too inconsistent. They've played .500 baseball since their 12 and 1 start.

This team has had a couple of good runs after the 12-1 start, but they follow it up with bad play. It's frustrating to play .500.

Blame Wren, it's how this team was built.

This is what gets me. Sure, its how the team is built, but that doesnt mean the players should just go out and say "They are paying me to hit HRs so thats what im going to try and do everytime up." Its so weird that BJ is hitting under .200. Its weird that Justin isnt hitting a lick after the red-hot start. Its weird Heyward was hitting under .200 for the longest. Our 2 guys who are hitting over .300(Freeman and CJ) are the only one who try to just put the ball in play.

spot on post

Heyward tried to pull a pitch 3 inches outside and rolled it over. IT IS PHILLY you can take it to the opposite field.

Everyone "tries" to put the ball in play. Not every hitter is created equal.

Most of these guys have proven track records. They are what they are, none are consistent hitters and that's why this offense is so hit or miss.

Heyward has potential to be better....guys like BJ, Justin, and Uggla are going to strikeout a lot. We should have known that when we brought them on board. You can't expect people to change when they have established the type of hitters they are.
