Sad state of American Economics

What has stopped either of you two from becoming doctors, lawyers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, etc professions which can lead one to make a substantial amount of money?

Where did it ever say that life was fair and we are all guaranteed success and wealth?

Didn't you see it...we were all granted life, liberty, pursuit of happiness and living wages! Its all in the founders writings.

I do agree though with the concept that the inequality of wealth is getting to dangerous levels. We need to bust up the largest corporations and stimulate smaller business growth. Companies like Walmart are ruining this country.

The 48% who don't pay taxes are hurting you and I just as much as the big corporations.

One doesn't need a $100,000 salary to live in. Don't live above your means and problem solved.

Massive consolidation of wealth is a precursor to bad things.

These large corporation are esentially monopolies because the barriers to enter these industries are so large that it isn't even worth it at this point.

I feel like you don't understand what constitutes the top 0.1%. Maybe you should look at it again.

That's not the point? I'm going to make plenty of money in my career and not feel bad about it. I'm not against people being rich/wealthy. That's totally cool with me. I am against, however, exploiting workers and those below you to increase your multi-million dollar salary. I have no problem with Warren Buffett making the money he does. He does good with it.

.com was nice, but it really screwed us.

We weren't ready and this is the result.

Think about it, do an assignment of income since Clinton got in till now. That climate peaked and now to the point of being toxic..mainly tech people. They made good money and they aren't. It has become a common job like a Walmart checker. A person I worked with when I moved here said he can get college educated workers at 35k with no problem and doesn't even bother with more educated or worker experience. When I worked there it was 40k starting. This alarms me that our educated students will not have a robust life and have to pay back over 100k in student loans.

Because I am the only programmer with a track record, I will have no issues, but those who are and will be let go is going to be hurting.

In theory I don't have a problem with altruistic plutocrats like Buffett and Gates, but the same societal problems which allow them to exist also allow the corrupt elites to butt**** the rest of us.

Yeah, a company that employees over a million people in the U.S. alone is ruining this country...lol

A more appropriate statement would be that companies like Walmart are employing this country.

no, that isn't an appropriate statement since they aren't paying them even a living wage

but hey, good that you are here to stick up for wal mart doing harm to this country

Our country would be much better off if 5 or 6 other companies existed in Walmarts place.
