Braves And A's Discussing J. Upton And Gattis?

That's why if u wanted to do a blockbuster and trade Justin and Gattis in the same deal they would Def trade both Walker and Peterson

I'd probably live with that, provided we could bring in some offense via free agency or a trade involving BJ and Minor or something like that.

Peterson is nothing special IMO...puts up great stats and has shown the ability to hit for power by the casual bystander...more in the mold of a Wes Helms, Mike Hessman, Scott Thorman type that lacks the plate discipline and coverage to be a consistent middle of the order threat.

These are exactly the type of players the organization needs to avoid and not fall in love with and go down that road again.

I'd like to see the pen be....

Kimbrel, Shae, Carp, Varvaro, Shreve, Thomas and Russell.

Just my personal opinion: If we were to do a blockbuster with Seattle it would look something like this:

Mariners get: Justin Upton, Evan Gattis and Gus Schlosser
Braves get: Taijuan Walker, Carson Smith, one of Gabriel Guerrero/Austin Wilson, Patrick Kivlehan, and Victor Sanchez

Peterson has hit .300 in the minors the past 2 years. Thorman and Hessman never did that. And neither were ever top prospects. Peterson will be better than both of them.

Walden was a great pitcher...but he's replaceable. Phenominal stuff but just couldn't be counted on consistently....always injured and when he wasn't didn't seem like he was able to pitch as effectively with a larger workload.
