I suppose you could trade Carp and go with Kimbrel, Simmons, Varv, Hale, Thomas, Shreve and Russell.
From what I understand he won't stick at 3b and is destined for 1b. I hear the braves already have a decent player at 1b.

D.J Peterson won't be an outfielder. If that was the case I would MUCH rather have Gattis out there.

If Hale isn't in the rotation, then I would rather have Kimbrel, Vizciano, Simmons, Hale, Russell, Shreve and Thomas.

Should have 2 option years left. He came up in September 2011 but wasn't sent back down. He was on the DL for 2 years and you can't send players on the DL down so he got 2 full years of service time for that 2 year DL stint. One option should have been used in 2014.

I'm glad that deal is not happening just because I think Seattle is the better fit. However, they do need more pitching unless you want to go into next year with David Hale as your fifth starter.

Sorry, but you're just wrong. He will be playing 1b at the mlb level. If he moves to the OF he will be terrible. He is not someone the Braves should be targeting.

Why would anyone think the Padres shouldn't be taken seriously if they were interested? They've got pitching depth (and have said they're open to dealing from it) as well as playing on Panda and Tomas so far this winter, so they're obviously looking for offense and not afraid to spend money.
