In their 2nd game of the season, with a new QB that had never played before.
Bad loss, no doubt. But context is important.

Barret played the first game of the season. tOSU lost at home to a 6-6 team from the ACC lead by Michael Brewer.

There are limited amount of games in college football, you don't get throwaway games.

Sounds like little Bear Bryant got his way with UAB, which is a damn shame.

People in Alabama should be outraged over what is happening with college athletics in that state.

Well that isn't correct. But regardless, that QB won't be playing anymore either. I don't see how anyone can say they are even a top 6 team without Barrett, much less top 4

You cant have a perfect system.

Having teams from the power five conferences only be able to play teams from the power five conferences would be a start.

Or if you don't do that (which they never will), incorporate strength of schedule to mean a lot more in overall standings.

I think they've got it about right. FSU gets in if they beat Tech. I personally agree that the three teams ranked ahead of FSU are better.

Honestly I think Baylor would beat FSU also.

FSU hasn't lost in two years.

That's such a superficial, stubborn and unreasonable argument. Clearly you have to consider the circumstances since these teams play different schedules. I absolutely don't care what they did last season.

Baylor beat TCU. How is MSU a better win than TCU?

And if Zona beats Oregon again I'd put them over OSU even with Zona having 2 losses

Not saying we are better than TCU. I have been on their bandwagon for awhile now. But Baylor isn't in the discussion even though they should be. This is why the committee members are so stupid and random. Head to head should be a huge criteria and it clearly isn't.

Don't agree with gilesfan often, but he's dead on. This playoff system is worse than the BCS. At least there was some sort of consistency with the computers. The human element is so screwed up with the playoff committee members. It's unreal at this point.

They havent lost this season. Isnt winning the goal? How do you win and move down in the ratings? How do you know anyone can be Florida State they haven't lost? I know every other team can lose

The committee isn't picking the best 4 teams in order. They have gotten to the point where there biastly picking the teams and which match ups they want

It will get to 8 or 10 teams eventually, and in that scenario it is the best system. 4 is too few.
