Eric Garner doesn't get justice

What kind of "animal" do you view him as? Some kind of ape? A monkey maybe?

A non-civilized human which to me can represent any animal you want to think of (aside from cats because they're awesome). If you think his actions represent what a human should act like then I feel sorry for you.

You sure you're not sure?

I am sure I'm not sure.

A man attacked an officer and tried to take his gun. Then after the officer rightfully pursued the dangerous perpetrator he charged the officer again. The officer eliminated the immediate threat to his life. The sounds like a logical course of action taken.

However, in the Garner case you have a man getting questioned for selling cigarettes as if that were really a crime. Then without posing any physical threat at all he was assaulted and massively excessive force was used.

The two cases could not be further apart.

I think his actions are fairly typical or humans of all kinds. I also think that perceiving criminals as "non-human" is part of why the US has such a messed up criminal justice system and why people like you don't care about the problems with it.

I also think that you should probably not refer to black people as animals, for... y'know... reasons.

I would refer to any person regardless of skin color as an animal if they acted the way brown did.

So if a white drunk a lot of beers get into a vehicle and run over a child....is he an animal?

Even if that were the case, you shouldn't. For the reasons I said.

And again, calling black people "animals" has a not so great history in the US. So, if there is a story where a big part of the story is that a dude is black, maybe don't repeatedly call him an animal. Especially if you are trying to convince people how not-racist you are.

Not sure what the "white" has to do with that but yes any person that gets behind a wheel so drunk where they can't handle their car then they would be an animal in my eyes.

I'm not trying to convince anyone if I am or I'm not racist. Whatever I say people are going to make up their own minds about it. All the matters is that I know what I am.

That's the way I feel about. I use a lot of terms that are not PC either. If that makes people mistakenly believe that I'm a racist then so be it. I won't lose any sleep over it.

how about we let the posters in here that have never made a racial comment or a racial joke, call others in here a racist.

Oh wait. We've all done that. Hypocrites

so, it all started from, what should be unconstitutional, a stop and frisk is what i read earlier today

This thread has turned into a bunch of people calling each other racists like children.

Distracting from the real issue - our cops are getting out of control.

People have been saying this likely for as long as cops have been around. They certainly were saying it 20-30 years ago or more. You only hear about these news stories more now because of the internet. You're looking at about 1/10 cops who act this way. There are tons of good cops out there. You just don't here about them because cops doing their actual job doesn't make headlines.

I certainly am not defending the cop in this case, but how does resisting arrest ever help you, even if you're innocent?

How does smoking help you? It doesn't. And smoking has the same amount of relevance that "resisting arrest" does.
