Bad Teachers!

According to Nate Silver and 538... who I actually think is probably the best source for ANY data, the government doesn't actually keep track of this sort of thing (of course that's not surprising). Here is a link to a post from them, which explains how they came up with the number. But to summarize:

Killed by Police had listed more than 1,450 deaths caused by law-enforcement officers since its launch, on May 1, 2013, through Sunday. That works out to about three per day, or 1,100 a year.

I see... so when I post something that indicates that folks are killed daily from police offers... you just brush it off with snark. If you can post similar statistics for teachers killing people daily, I'll be just as outraged.

To answer your second question, my viewpoint is that in any case in which an unarmed person is killed, it's unjustified.

interesting...you're ok with our children's lives being ruined, and just as long as they aren't killed you won't be outraged. Wow!

Holy crap dude - I've had discussions with 4 year olds more productive than you.

I think our education system is a joke. I think our teachers are jokes. I think that's why our country is so stupid. Eduction is important, and the fact that our teachers are idiots pisses me off.

Having said that. They're not ****ing killing people. And worst yet, I'm more annoyed that you're on here sucking every police officer off and doing everything you can justify all of their murders. I post something that suggests that police offers are killing 3 people every ****ing day. And you brush it off with snark. That doesn't bother you? 3 people every day??

Are they all unjustified? Of course not. I'm sure many of them aren't. But I'm certain many of them are and instead of correcting that issue - we have grand jury making sure they are not punished and we have people like you who defend killing unarmed people.

You make a dumb thread like this trying to prove a point of hypocrisy I guess. But the fact that you're comparing a teacher having sex with a student to a cop killing an unarmed kid - well, I think you're priorities are a little messed up.
 
Nobody on this board - or probably in this country - would defend what this teacher allegedly did.

Unfortunately, that's not the case for stories as recently as Garner. Instead, the cop walks away without even an indictment.

Wow dude calm it down a notch. No need to get so upset over an internet message board. Never brushed it over with a snark as you say. All I did was say that the numbers I've seen we're not as high as the ones you've posted. Lol

I've yet to see you post any statistics for all these unjustified killings you claim are happening all the time. So again I say, you're just basing that off your pure hatred of cops.

Or the fact that the FBI doesn't track them (surprise surprise)... On the home page, there's like 3 or 4 threads about them. If I thought you were objective enough to be reasoned with, I'd take the time to do the research. But you are a blind sheep and you obey so it's not worth the pursuit.

And a simple google search will show you that most statistics show almost 1/3 of the totals you posted. No where near the 3 per day claimed.

I mean - did you even read the link from 538 I posted earlier? It very clearly explains how that number is derived, and even highlights the official FBI number of 400 per year:

The FBI tracks “justifiable” police homicides, which it reports to be about 400 per year, but that tally is an undercount.
