If you're asking me if I think a cop should start shooting at someone is who is approaching them with a pocket knife, my answer would be no.

I hope to see more details on this. I really hope these cop's lives were in imminent danger that they felt the need to take a man's life. I suspect that won't be the case.

(a) Police should be held to a different, higher standard.
(b) There's a difference between shooting a gun to disable someone, and spraying with predetermined lethal intent; police are too often jumping straight to the latter, when they should be trained and trusted to do the former should they need to use their firearm.

A. Police are allowed and should be allowed to shoot people coming at them with knives.

B. You've been watching too many Hollywood movies. Police are trained to shoot until the threat is stopped, whether that be 1 bullet or 10 bullets.
