The Gattis Thread...

<B>"What is a clvclv"</B>
Since there isn't one and his discussions have little to do with the Upton discussions.

If Texas truly is offering Nomar Mazara AND Jake Thompson Evan should've already been on a plane.

So what's this forum gonna be like when Gattis is playing 140+ games a year and mashing 35+ homers a year as a DH?

ZOMG what if we had Gattis and Heyward in the SAME outfield?

For Gattis it should be one of Gallo or Mazara, one of their middle infielders, and one of their top 3 pitching prospects Gonzalez, Thompson or Jackson.

If I got to choose(assuming Gallo is off the table) would be Mazara, Profar and Jackson.

That's the problem. ....He can only do that as a DH. And unless we can switch with Houston and join the AL it is meaningless. I mean come on....Gattis can't stay healthy playing the field every night. Sad but true.

Same. To borrow from the spinmaster; Evan is the right player on the wrong team in the wrong league. Moving him now would be a smart play, provided the talent coming back is as good as these preliminary reports are indicating it could be.

I don't like it, but I can't disagree. I sure would like to handcuff him to Melvin.

Merry Christmas to me if this does indeed happen. The guy is a one trick pony and I have never seen him as anything special. Home Run hitter yes, baseball player no...

There is not a place on the field Gattis can play defensively. He is a DH, in my opinion that does not define baseball player. I know it looks bad but we are headed in the right direction.

He is a decent catcher. But that wastes his best position, which is bat. And as somebody said above, how long can a 260-pound man get in and out of a squat with knee and back issues? Might as well flip him.
