GDT: 7-29-13 Rockies at Braves, Feeling a little Beachy.

That's because Fredi doesn't actually do any managing. Never sends runners, hit and run, intentionally walks. He writes out a lineup and that's it.

Doesn't pretty much every manager do that?

Is he supposed to magically make everyone hit?

The hate for Fredi is funny, I agree on lineup contrstruction but outside of that, i don't have a huge problem with him.

Bullpen management has been much better the past few years.

Freddi is very lucky that the roster is so talented. I don't think he is the answer moving forward. Too bad we couldn't have gotten Francona over here.

So you're saying a better manager would be doing better with the current team? I think all things considered, including half of our hitters having the crappiest years imaginable, you have to be happy with where we are at. Give the manager credit.

He's not a perfect manager by any means, but who really is?

Fredi doesn't deserve credit for the Nationals playing like crap. Dumb luck does not a good manager make.

Sure he gets some. There are positives, especially outside of the game. But he is one of the worst in-game managers I've seen on a competing team.

Completely disagree, outside of lineup construction which changed, I don't have a huge problem with him.

I think that's a bit of a stretch. What do you consider Davey Johnson then? Horrible manager?
