2 cops ambushed and executed In NY

The government is structured to work for the people.

i'm not huge on either party actually doing this

but we for sure have 1 party in this gov't that isn't working for the people and are actually doing all they can to break it to say "hey, it doesn't work"

ah, yes

as you say, it's never the polices fault when they go and kill someone

i mean , they are just dealing with criminals.

i hope tamir rices family knows that it is their fault

as well as countless other families who have had their loved ones killed by over zealous cops who weren't held accountable

As I say? Hmm, interesting as I never said that.

The fact of the matter is that if people were committing less crime then we would have less deaths.

So should the electrd official support the people that work for him? If the people that work for him arent doing their jobs, shouldnt he fix the problem, not contribute to putting their lives in danger?

first, **** a police union. sickening the words coming them and the people they protect that put good cops in harms way.

second, mayor Blasio comments weren't putting them in danger. the actions and the gov't not holding cops accountable is what was dangerous and leads to people not trusting cops and then leading to extreme situations like this. people don't wake up one day with no reason and think "**** the police"

third, Blasio was talking about actual problems like an adult and the nypd union acted liked children

Oh yeah, the one with the kid pointing his gun at people. What are cops supposed to do when guns are pointed at them?

well, since we don't kill every one that pointed a gun at a cop

i guess we could go with not shooting a 12 year old as if it was a drive by

The reality seems to be the citizens of these locales are fed up with the disrespectful lawless nature of the police and are acting on it. The theory is, it never gets to this point.

Who in these cases are the police protecting? Who exactly on Staten Island were they serving?
their stand vs the Mayor, whoexactly are they protectng? Who exactly are they serving?

I think in all cases they are essentially working for themselves. I don't understand how people are ok with that? Seems a bit narrow and short sighted. Again, look where history tells us this goes

Prople wake up and want to cops bc of the bull**** rhetoric from the media that renegade cops are running around killing innocent people. People still think Mike Brown was shotnin the back while running away.

Why is That?

Who do people in Brooklyn call when they are in need? The two guys sitting in theor car that got blasted for no reason.

That is the theory. But to borrow thethe's thought the theory and the reality seems to be at odds.

Here like so many other issues the system is broken. My take is deBlasio recognizes that and doesn't envision an authoritarian solution

So the ideologies actually break down to the Authoritarians vs the Civil Libertarians
Is that a fair assessment ??

If you don't feel safe in calling the cops to protect you in a dangerous position then you are probably doing things that you shouldn't be doing as well. You have nobody to blame but yourself.

That is a significant leap of logic and a bucket full of unfounded assumptions.
a) doesn't feel safe around b) therefore a) is doing something they shouldn't

Why do people think Brown was shot in the back running away?

because some of the witnesses said that

not sure why you want to talk about Brown in this thread. we have a long one already on the killing of that unarmed man on this board

so, now that i answered that:

blaming the media really?

you think people wake up and have a belief of "**** the police" cause of the media?

Who gave unreliable witnesses a voice to influence a large number of people?

Why has the media jumped on this cop bashing trend (more views)? What is the outcome of spreading false stories from unreliable witnesses?

Ah, that old "Fair and Balanced" schtict !! Might want to start there. Be careful though, once you get in those weeds you might not come out the same
