Braves sign Pierzynski

Red Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski has long been one of the most polarizing players in baseball. Most notably when he was on the White Sox, he was one of those "you love him when he's on your favorite team and hate him when he's not" guys.

I would hope, though, that all baseball fans would forget about personal feelings toward Pierzynski and instead focus on this gem that got him ejected from a game on June 4. It's incredible with its punchiness and simplicity.

After Boston reliever Brandon Workman walked Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera, Pierzynski requested a new ball from umpire Quinn Wolcott. Here's how:

"Give me a new ball. One you can see."

We traded one for what very well could be "nothing." If our plan is just to trade everyone to get prospects, why even hire scouts or have drafts?

You or no one know what they will be and how the returns are.

Even still the team wasnt good last year, some could say it was a fluke, but if neither would re-sign before FA, why keep them?

This was actually a very close friend of mine. He texted me around 1:00 and told me about it. He told me that Fredi told him and he was the first to know, which was weird, but turned out to be the truth. I would have posted it here but I was driving.

And I have a cousin who has a friend who works at the Starbucks next door to the Honeybaked Ham Co. that heard through the glory hole in the store bathroom and emailed me about it.

Things we learned. Fredi celebrates free agent signings by buying Honeybaked Ham.

Noted. Have fun this year. Glad you only root for your favorite teams when they do well.

I rooted for the Braves when they sucked in the late 2000s. I will not root for a team with AJ Pierzynski on it. Period, dude is a straight up dirty scumbag, I won't root for that or a team who pays for that.

I'll root for the Braves next year, but I sure won't be watching them. Atlanta, you have my moral support.

Nothing was as bad as June of '06.

edit: Of course I heard there was a season played in 2011.

I watched 2006 and 2008 which were about as rough as 2013.

I'll watch just because I want to see Wood and Teheran grow into aces. And hopefully see Simmons develop into a hitter under Seitzer.

I'll follow the success of individuals through methods that don't pay the Braves money, but they won't see a dime of my funds as long as Pierzynski is on the team.

Hes gonna be a good mentor for CB

Before the great run started in the early 90s, 06 and 08 along with September 11 were tough to watch and digest....but through that all said no team was as dead to me than 2014.

Why? I don't know, but I called it the first game if the season...boring dead no fight nothing there. I mean everyone has hopes to start the season and potentially contend. That wasn't there this last year.

And those teams in 06 and 08 had their issues, but it never was a matter of will or determination and going out there on a daily basis and competing....Bobby would never stand for that.
