Why? I see a far greater chance it hurts the team than helps.

Has Waiters ever showed anything?

All I have seen is him getting in fights with Kyrie and throwing fits on the court when he doesn't get the ball.

Lance Thomas for him made sense, but trading a pick makes no sense.

He's a chucker that thinks he's a scorer but is terrible at it. It's like a Nick Young except he openly demands the ball from guys like Irving and Lebron. Lol

Thunder don't need to have every first round pick each year. They are still incredibly young with guys under contract for a few more twee as plus have Pleiss and Abrines stashed overseas. TheY didn't give up much I just don't like Waiters.

Well they have already shown everybody that by picking draft and stash guys in the d league.

Interesting that Presti has such a good record of drafting, but the Thunder seem to be punting the draft the last couple of years.

I'm not trolling, btw. I legitimately am very curious as to why they are doing that.

How have they punted the draft the last few years?

Josh Huestis wasn't even projected to be drafted. He cut a deal with OKC to go to the D League just so he was guaranteed to be picked. This was all so OKC could avoid going over the tax.

And Mitch McGary was projected to be a 2nd rounder with all his injury problems and it seems like OKC picked him to stash him in the D League as well.

OKC is clearly making moves to save money.

What if Waiters drives Durant to leave? Lol

Meh not a great pick by any means.

But one pick means Presti cant draft well?

He's been hurt, you idiot.

Also, McGary would have been a top 15 pick if he came out last year.

He was projected as a late 1st, early 2nd.

For Heyward to show him that I said Presti drafts well.

"Idiot"

There were rumors swirling that a couple of teams like Huestis in the top of the second round> OKC couldn't find a deal to trade down to make sure they got him. If it was strictliy cap space they could have drafted plenty of other international players and stashed them for a few years. They like Huestis and he has done ok in the D-League to start off.

I'm really not to sure how this adds to your narrative. If McGary didn't get hurt he would be part of the rotation right now.

"Mitch McGary was projected to go in the second round because of injuries."

Are you surprised he's been hurt? My whole point is that Presti isn't picking the guys he probably would like to. It really does seem ownership is being cheap to avoid even flirting with the tax. Which should be no surprised considering OKC traded Harden just to avoid the luxury tax.
