SOTU?

I just don't think higher education is for everyone. In reality, I don't think its the best option for a majority of people. The only reason I would say it should be done is to get people in the door for better jobs but as soon as your plan happens then the demands will get higher and even less people will be able to achieve those standards.

The first two years of college really can't be considered higher education. It's mostly what SHOULD be taught in 11th and 12th grade. Our standards are horribly low.

I wasn't referring to the community college education. Thats mostly a joke if you ask me. You made the point of all education being free. That is what I responding to.

But there are much older people than 21 year olds that go to community college.

And, again on average, they have no interest in hanging out with teenagers. They probably get more than enough of that at home. The ones who do have an interest won't let the difference between community college and high school stop them.

I think this really shows you the current state of education.

I just think you're creating an environment that welcomes a seedy element. I do believe there is a big difference mentally between a 16 year old and a 21 year old. Not to mention when you are older than that.

We need to do a better job in our secondary education schools which would encourage more to enter into higher education.

Is this actionable - at the school board level.
Is it being done anywhere in the US ?

Are you willing to make this a reality ??

The option for college classes already exists (at the high school level), so I would say that it IS actionable.

Not to my knowledge, at least not to the degree I am talking about.

Of course.

Homophobes. Homophones. He gets them confused.

Didn't Jindal also sign legislation in La absolving oil companies (drilling folks I mean) for any further financial liabilities than they already paid for their past teenie tiny oil spills in the Gulf?

And in 2015, as well.

I don't believe tax and spend is a viable economic direction given the current state of our fiscal system (it's too political, too multi-layered, and too porous).

In principle, yeah, it's beautiful. But so is Communism.

I think the extreme on the other side is dangerous as well. Because big business continues to send jobs overseas to cheaper markets so their EPS can go up a few pennies for the next quarterly financial release.

There are some great community colleges out there. That makes no difference to the discussion, in my opinion.
