Not rim protectors who are close to as good as Ibaka.

Obviously.......but again......James Harden + lesser defender > Ibaka + Lamb + Adams

If Ibaka took the next step, I might see your point but he hasn't. He's actually gotten worse.

Thats only because you are using metrics that aren't favorable to low usage players and the Thunder rotation has been in disarray this year.

Ibaka now is a stretch 4 since he can hit threes at a greater than 38% clip plus is still an elite rim protector. Lets wait to see how the Thunder look when KD is in the lineup consistently. Ibaka is great for whta the Thunder need.

You guys realize Harden has been vastly superior defensively than Klay this year? Like by a ton? And it looks likes hes been better over the course of his career.

Harden rarely guards the top player. While Klay covers the better offensive threat usually. No way you can watch both play and think Harden is better on D even this year. Klay has locked up Harden when they play.

No, I'm using everything.....his numbers are down across the board in every cat but 3's and FT %. He hasn't been good this year, whether it's him focusing too much on 3's or what, his regular and advanced numbers are all down.

And considering OKC was without RW and KD, his numbers should be way up.

To the tune of:

Per 40 mins:

25.2 points
5.5 rebounds
5.5 assists
116 offensive rating

Ibaka is essentially useless on offense outside of spot up shooting.

I can't speak to how incorrect that is. Ibaka is 100% dependent on players around him. He wasn't going to magically turn into a dominant offensive player. If he ever did he would basically be a top 5 player. Not going to happen. Ibaka needs KD/RW.

Oh yes let use a stat that means nothing. Someones averages for 40 minutes of a 48 minute game tell so much.

Didn't ask him to be a top 5 player but he can't do better than 12 and 7?

I'd definitely like him to score more. The rebounding doesn't matter. The Thunder are still one of if not the best rebounding team in the league so how much is it actually hurting them?

Hurting them in what sense? You already admitted that they probably have a ring with Harden, so shouldn't that end the convo?

The Thunder are 8th in the NBA in O-rebounding% and 14th in D-Rebounding %.

Though, niners will probably argue this stat is meaningless.
