NBA Thread

Cavs are gonna run thru the East.

Unless Melo comes back and the Knicks stop them.

They should make the finals. Atlanta can hold onto home court though which would be huge. I am worried about getting out of the first round again. Detroit could easily send us home.

Kanters defense on the PnR last night was awful to say the least. He needs to be coached up. I'm not going to sit here and say a 22 year old can't improve.

That isn't the premise of the article.

And excellent that you enjoy "analytics" again.

Chop, I went to school for math. One of my biggest regrets in life is not pursuing a career in academia so that I could spend all my time studying. I'll always enjoy reading articles about statistical analysis. Whether or not I believe they are valid within the context of basketball is another story.

Also, interesting that you are interested in the "analytics" of this article when it agrees with your point.

What did you study thethe? All jokes aside

I read a lot of analytical driven articles.

I wasnot mentally ready for college. I ****ed around for my first two years and had to graduate on time. Math was always easy for me do I just got a standard bachelors in math. as part of the curriculum i studied real analysis, modern alegebra and linear algebra foe the most part. Wish I would have been more comittedm

I have never once questioned your ability to understand analytics. You seem like a bright enough guy that you would grasp at least the intent of statistics. At least more so than some of the other buffoons who wander these parts spouting hot take after hot take.

I enjoyed linear algebra quite a bit. My intention is to take graduate courses in Operations Research after a few years of working.

thethe is bright I think. He just is naturally an eternal optimist.

Im going back for my masters now (Georgetown) ..been out of 12 years. I think a few years of work experience and maturity help in grad school. I hope to someday e a professor; at the minimum adjunct faculty, but maybe full-time. I don't love the pay, but I think I can deal with work schedule/lack of stress.

That seems like a really cushy situation. At some point, time becomes more valuable than anything. Being a professor seems like a nice way to balance the best of both worlds.

Credit where credit is due...

I really like what I'm seeing out of OKC. Golden state and Memphis have to be nervous about them. If Durant can stay healthy they might be a co favorite with Golden State.

Westbrook is just playing at a crazy level. Augustine has been a great fit as well as Morrow. It all depends on KD but if he's healthy this is their best team.

I've been super impressed with Westbrook tonight.

This is the best I have ever seen him play. He looks even better than that 40+ point game against the Pelicans a few weeks ago.

Fun team to watch thethe

He is just under control. He came out last night and said he shot too much. Lots of growth in his game overall. Plus he does it on the defensive end as well. Just incredible what he's doing.

It's even more fun to watch when KD is playing and doing his thing as well. Since he can play off the ball they can still let westbrook display his brilliance.
