Oklahoma Frat

No, I'm saying that Greek life is a ****ed up microcosm.

yeah but it is spread through out this country on most college campuses

thus meaning it is part of mainstream america imo

this isn't some underground neo nazi group or something

Someone like K said that blacks say ethnic slurs at white, so I did what I did to K on another board a proud white supremacist and he can't or wouldn't find anything.

Finally he came up with Hymie? I was like, WTF, WTH is that then it dawned on me.

The blackest thing you can come up for us to disparage is a Jew? Whites don't like Jews as well. They would high-five you if you call them that knowing they aren't Jewish.

Now if you are a Jew you probably feel slightly upset, but it is not an "N" word and not even close.

There is no equivalent word to "N" in the dictionary, the closest is Uncle Tom, but you can't use that because to some blacks it is a compliment.

Good luck in finding a white word we can use to make you upset. A food product won't, a donkey/h won't because it has no meaning, just a middle-european term that has no meaning, but look up "N" it is in the dictionary. It is not a very good description of a person and VERY derogatory.

So to you racists, please let me know when a black person find a word that is derogatory to your race that depicts a race in any shape or form that is equally derogative, you will find yourself a celebrity. And then use that in slogans, sayings, poetry and in police offices with email, we will find common ground.

Good luck.

This is not a first amendment issue. An employer has the right to terminate the employment of an employee whose behavior makes the company look bad. Likewise, a university may expel students whose behavior makes the school look bad. I would not expel them, but a suspension would be fair. The fraternity's charter should be revoked, at least.

This is why I didn't say anything.

If I sung a song saying "white trailer trash working for my company, stupid as schit, they don't know it because black people are the schit."

I would be fired in ten minutes with po po coming in and guns drawn, cuffs out.

Are we really drawing parallels between mainstream society and collegiate Greek life here?
It's a good question and the answer is Absolutely. People are naturally clannish. We form groups in everything we do and in turn these groups greatly influence our behavior.

Just an observation, but this thread has devolved from SAE at Oklahoma and more toward all Greek Life is dumb and racist.

That's where you're wrong. Universities are considered 'organs of the state' your job isn't. First anendement is protected.

I have no problem with the charter being revoked but to suspend someone for saying something isn't right.

I think you have my point confused. We can both describe what assault is. What murder is. What a DUI is. But if a video of whites saying the N words gets them expelled why would a video of blacks saying the N word also not get them expelled.

That's the simple question. If the crime is the same, should the punishment not be the same regardless of who commits the crime. Simple yes or no would suffice

My guess is that there is a "student conduct clause" under which the University of Oklahoma can suspend a student for certain behaviors, some of which may be legal. I'm not sure on that, but "freedom of speech" has never meant "freedom to say anything you want."

Come on, what did I say their punishment should be.....I didn't. They should be ridiculed, not expelled. As for the "N" word, it means different things to different cultures, when you say it at us, you use it in a derogatory way as in the dictionary definition, when we use it among us, some like some don't but that DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT to say it at us because the SLAVE OWNERS used it as a derogatory disciplinary matter, like "GET TO WORK YOU LAZY N" If you did not enslave us, this word would never come to be.

But the question is knowing how the world is, how the nation is, why in the f*** would you say it knowing the consequences, that is pure STUPIDITY ON THE SCALE they should be flipping burgers.

Non-issue, stupid to begin with. If I see someone with a white hood parading around saying white power, so. But if you look at me and say something or do something, there will be some white stains on that outfit, I guarantee that.

Wrong. I work with public schools and there is not an absolute protection of speech in that setting. I am going out on a limb because it's not apples-to-apples, but my guess is the same would apply to a state university.

Well, duh. They cannot legally expel the kids.

Though, I doubt those idiots want to be back on the Oklahoma campus. It could get ugly for them

This is was first thought.

They should not be expelled for being stupid.

Now public flogging, I can agree with that......oh wait, see point #1.

Thanks man!! I wondered when we'd get an Animal House reference to make this whole situation more clearly understandable to everyone!!! :icon_biggrin:

I was never in a fraternity but I always thought I'd have made a good Delta...."we're not going to sit here and listen to you bad mouth the United States of America"!!!
