He was the 2nd best rusher in the league from week 5 on to the end of the season. And when Sachez took over, McCoy was playing fantastic.

Those are facts.

What would be accurate would be he had the 2nd most yards, right? Because having a ton of carries with a low ypc doesn't make you the best.

He averaged 4.6 yards per carry during that span. So again, you are wrong.

The Eagles had the highest graded run blocking unit in the NFL an McCoy still only average 4.2 yards per carry. He graded out as mid 20s overall.

Why do you think he graded so low?

For sure McCoy wasn't nearly as effective last season as the one before. I will agree, just from eye test, that he didn't really have a good season despite the numbers. Part of that was the injuries to the OL and ineffective QB play. The Eagles offense was very weird. It was hyper-productive at times and looked just plain bad other times. McCoy was part of that, but it was really the offense as a whole. He's still a really talented runner though, despite apparently grading out pretty poorly. He wasn't getting nearly the space he was getting in 2013 (and idk what the grades say, but that's definitely true).

Is it not unreasonable to say that he's not the 2013 McCoy and not the 2014 version, but likely something in between?

Not at all. He likely won't ever have a season like he did in 2013, but he should still be an effective runner for another two or so years.

I bet hes more 2014 than anything before being hes now past his peak and has a ton of tread on his tires.

He started the year out slow. First 4 games averaged less than 3 yards per carry. The final 12 games he averaged 4.6 yards per carry. Just because the stats doing suit your argument doesn't change them from being facts.

You said the Eagles won with Sanch despite McCoy sucking. That is a blatantly false statement.

Again, MCCoy was ranked in the mid 20s for running backs. How again is that false?

The entire argument is based off your post that stated the Eagles won with Sanchez starting and McCoy sucking. That is clearly false, as McCoy did not suck while Sanchez was behind the helm, and stats support that.

But the stats show he was mid 20s

Not when Sánchez was QB, which is what you said.

Ok, fine then.

week 5 -0.5
week 6 1.9
week 8 0.3
week 9 -1.1
week 10 -3.0
week 11 0.1
week 12 -1.3
week 13 0.2
week 14 -2.0
week 15 0.0
week 16 1.4
week 17 0.9

From week 5 to the end of the season, pro football focus graded him at -3.10.

Here's a tip. McCoy wasn't the second best RB from 5 on or in the 20s. You're both wrong, YAY celebrate it.

He was middling all year. Hovering around average. Not great, not terrible, just average.

Eagles signed Ryan Matthews because they didn't want to pull a Frank Gore and crawfish a handshake agreement. Good on Philly.

Not to mention it isn't like Murray or Matthews have been the picture of health over their careers.

Further proof, however, that Chip is winging it and doesn't really have a plan.
They may cut Mathis.

Or that signing a 33 year old guard to a new contract worth over 7 million per year is dumb?
