CBB Thread

Spoken like someone who wasn't watched Kentucky the last month and a half, when Andrew has arguably been their best player and likely played himself back into the first round next year.

Also, Booker has been terrible for about that same time frame. I love the guy and he's hot tonight, and we'll need him before it's over, but he's shooting like 20% over the past 1.5 months.

Come on. 2 games ago, it was a lock that he came back. Now, people are over reacting and claiming he has an outside shot at a late first round pick. Meanwhile, Booker is a borderline lottery pick.

I've seen Andrew Harrison plenty. He can shoot the open 3 plenty that he gets because of the talent around him. He doesn't rebound. shoots like 37% on anything inside the arc, and is a sloppy ball handler.

I will say that I can understand how this wouldn't be enjoyable if you aren't a Kentucky fan. It's a ref-dominated hack fest, and Kentucky is blowing them out. Not Kentucky's fault, because they're playing high-quality basketball, but between those two factors I would definitely be watching the other game if I didn't love the Cats.

Until Poythress got hurt, they started exactly 1 freshman.

Like I said, the freshmen are awesome and all contribute, but it's much different when they just contribute instead of having to shoulder the load as freshmen.. it's a luxury Cal hasn't had in a while. That's why this team is so good.

The Harrisons, Cauley-Stein, Dakari, and Marcus Lee all have Final Four experience. They are the leaders of this team. That can't be understated.

I agree, in years past they havent had great depth, their title team really only had 6-7 players.

In close games, Cal shortens his bench a bit.

Booker is a great talent and I'm not surprised he's project lottery. I would certainly take him there. I'm just saying, he's been in a shooting slump. And the Harrisons are better defenders than he is. But he's not a bad defender, and he has a pure stroke. He also has a good midrange game and he's a good finisher in transition.

But he hasn't been playing well lately, and the Harrisons have. If they were a typical freshmen-dominated Kentucky team, that would have likely cost them a game or two. But it didn't, because so many guys came back.

I disagree completely about Aaron. He's actually not even shooting the 3 well this year and has been much better attacking off the bounce. He's also improved his defense tremendously and he's far from a sloppy ballhandler. Not saying he's got point guard handles, but he's not bad.

I don't know why, but CBB feels more relevant this year with a team like Kentucky that is simply better than everyone. It feels historical.

But I'm by no means a CBB purist. I watch some tourney games every year so take that for what it's worth.

Also, I don't really care what people were saying 2 games ago. I've watched every minute of Kentucky basketball this season and Andrew has been fantastic for the past month and a half. He's outplayed Ulis, honestly, and I LOVE Ulis.

Apparently the NBA scouts have paying attention, too.

Andrew is shooting 39% from 3. (im assuming you meant him) He's a terrible finisher shooting under 50% at the rim. He's shooting 29.% on 2 point jumpers. His offensive game is hitting open 3 pointers. I'm not sure Andrew's defense is that good considering he fouls a lot and is among the worst defenders on the team statistically. His rebounding numbers are pathetic for a 6-5 player. He also turns the ball over 16% of the time.

K.

Again, I've watched every minute they've played this year. Don't really care about those stats. He's been playing great for the past month and a half and they aren't undefeated without him.

Also, no, in the last paragraph in the previous post, I meant Aaron, because you said Aaron in your post.

Meant Andrew, the slightly better twin.

Nice that you've watched every game, but you can't deny he has not game inside the arc. He isn't a distributor. 1.5 months shouldn't make someone a draft pick.

Kentucky just beat a top-20 team by 39 in the Sweet 16.

I'm just kidding, btw. He is a good coach. If they win the next game, I'll be impressed. They are terrible this year, even though they have some pretty decent talent.

Other than the title, this might be the most enjoyable run for me. Yes, UCI/UNI/NSU isn't Nova/ND/Zona but Louisville looked like ass most of the year and no one gave them a chance to make a run. Snider has been amazing only 3 TO's in 111 minutes.

Pitino is a hell of a coach but they got a really good draw, was hoping UNC would get in Nova's bracket.

Snider is impressive, he's gonna be a good one.
