It's OVER 5,000!
Thanks. I'm thinking it won't come to pass on the draft pick at this point, but maybe Bowman will clarify before the night is out.
I saw that but once the deal was confirmed that wasn't included so that is why I asked.

Diamondbacks trying to sell Elander as 'the Braves #13 prospect entering the 2014 season.'

My point was that he was so bad that most D'Back fans wanted him gone badly. Further, he was terrible last year and hasn't been good in years so I can see their point. And the soft-tosser comment was quoted from MLBTR and has already since been corrected.
Roger is fantastic at helping pitchers get their control back.
I know some will always complain but there is absolutely nothing negative about this trade. Solid move.
I had a lot of fun watching Cahill pitch for Oakland. He's fun, even when he's bad.
Hasn't been good for years? He had solid (not great) years in 2013 and 2012... in a terrible pitchers park. If he can get his control back together... he still has a very good chance to be an above average to very good pitcher. He's only about to turn 27 and Roger is fantastic at helping pitchers get their control back.
Except we are paying 6 million for at best an average pitcher. We are rebuilding. Letting some team dump their bad contract off on is isnt a good way to rebuild. Makes no sense.
If the pick is included, it looks like it's Pick #75 in the 2015 draft.
I was not saying he was bad overall in 2013 but I wouldn't say he was good either (somewhere in between is more accurate). And you cannot dispute that he was very bad last year. Further, the walk on water theme some on here throw around ought to be used lately when Roger's name comes up the way some of y'all talk like he's a miracle worker.
Average pitches cost around 10 million at minimum per year on the open market. So if Cahill is average we win in the salary war. Also we only have him for one year. If he rebounds we can move him at the deadline. If not then we just let him go. How is this negative in anyway? The prospect we gave up is filler.
He was terrible last year... but even the best pitchers have down years... and I'm willing to bet a guy who's just turning 27 and has his talent isn't done yet. And Roger has done fantastic things with pitchers who haven't been able to succeed in a while... so its not exactly a stretch to think he may have a positive influence.
