Kimbrel/Melvin Trade Thread

I know it's early. But a peak Heyward is better than anything Shelby or Tyrrell can provide.

Tommy LaStella looking good early.

Sure but there wasnt any sense of keeping him if he wouldnt sign but this topic has been beaten to death.

Are we gonna have Heyward updates after every game?

Sure, he'll come back if we offer him the dough. You can forget about any potential hometown discount or back-loading generosity though.

After winning 70 games this year, I think he will look elsewhere. I expect Cards to keep him.

Kinda wonder if this spells the end for KJ as well.

Young can now platoon with Gomes, and we save the $1.5 million we'd have paid KJ to put towards Maybin or Quentin.

The negabraves and posibraves aligned a bit tonight with the Kimbrel trade. But Heyward having a big night is interesting. Gives a big win for the negabraves.

I would guess not but who knows with the Braves. I'd assume they'd want KJ's versatility. I do think they'll send out some feelers on KJ, Callaspo and CJ as well.

Busy catching up on The Lizzie Borden Chronicles on Lifetime?

lol.. kind of. My wife is catching up on her shows tonight before Game of Thrones and Orphan Black starts up. She's got a bit of a back log. We are watching Pitch Perfect right now if that gives you any idea.

They better do better than a feeler if they want someone to take CJ. Better spread them cheeks.

oooh...Sra 3000 loves that one.

As previously constructed, we weren't able to offer him the premium deal. Now? You bet we could. A ton has changed in one offseason.

5 picks in the top 100? That's freaking superb.

Why on earth would we keep eric young over KJ?

Because Young would be the backup CF and he's $500,000 cheaper.

It's not like KJ's versatility is such a big deal with Peterson, Callaspo, and Gosselin around with Peraza coming. Particularly when they seem to like Ciriaco.

Gosselin and Callaspo are worse players than KJ. It's flat out dump to ditch KJ and keep Callaspo and Gosselin over him. Doesn't Gosselin have options as well?
