GDT: 4/7/'15 - Atlanta Braves (Wood) @ Miami Marlins (Latos) 7:35PM EST

The Orioles are having ongoing trade discussions pertaining to relief pitchers Brian Matusz and Ryan Webb, reports Jon Morosi of FOX Sports (on Twitter).

I wonder if the O's might have any interest in Quentin and Jaime? If no one will give us salary relief (A's are signing Cody Ross so they're now out), then maybe just pay the difference and get a reliever back from a team that wants him.

Solid start. Latos had nothing. Let's not get ahead of ourselves with all the "so much more fun than the disaster last year!" posts. Don't turn this board into Chip and Joe

Its about the types of AB's we are having.

Nobody is expecting to win a bunch of games this year but last year was brutal.

Yea, good point. Plus we actually had a very good first month last year record wise. We just didn't score much, but our pitching had an amazing month and that was fun to watch. So was some great defense, mostly by Heyward and Simmons. The most frustrating games for me last year seemed to be mostly Wood starts. He would usually pitch great and get no support. So it is fun to see him get support for a change. But I wouldn't bet on that continuing all season with this line-up.

I'd take a stab on Matusz.

Even with the good start, the team just didnt see that good.

We wont win a ton of games given lack of talent but the team is making solid, long AB's, for the most part.

Last year the team just seemed boring to watch.

I mean, the entire game yesterday, we saw 112 pitches, which averaged 3.2 pitches per plate appearance.

I think it's more likely that Latos had NOTHING and we took advantage. Good for us. But what has happened since Hand came in?

There still have been many long AB's.

Fair point, even still, as talented as last years team was, they just were dreadful to watch at the plate.

Baseball is the same as its always been. If you have good starting pitching you are going to win games.
