GDT: 4/7/'15 - Atlanta Braves (Wood) @ Miami Marlins (Latos) 7:35PM EST

Let's not go crazy. I don't want Jace and EY and Maybin and Nick the Stick swinging for the fences. But if this team had a Justin Upton or Evan Gattis in the middle of the order, you're damn right I want that sumbitch swinging for the fences.

Exactly homie, well said!

Even Bethancourt, who seems pretty inclined to get fooled and swing from his ass, put together a couple of solid ABs tonight.

Everything in moderation.

I've said a few times that I would welcome one of those types of hitters if they fell into our lap and yes those guys should play to their strengths. But, I believe the correct way to build a offense is around contact guys who can distinguish between balls and strikes. That is where the Braves are going and I'm freaking ecstatic to see it. Still a couple of years to see the fruits of John ^2 labor but its coming.

This season is going to be hard for YNOT. I don't know what to ask. Maybe how many homers a Braves would hit in a series, if I say 1, every body and their brother would guess 1 or 0 and get points, LMAO!!!

Ask about pitch counts in a single AB or maybe full counts.

Successful bunts. ITS A NEW AGE!

True, but I think it also helped facing a lefty for him and Latos just didn't have anything. I like him vs lefties, I just don't think he'll ever hit a lot vs righties unless he stops chasing the low and outside breaking pitches, etc.

Dude, I like that, but one problem, I have to watch each at-bat unless you know how to get stats on highest amount of pitches to one batter in a game.

I would see us having a few with 9 or more in each game.

Freeman said something really encouraging in his post-game interview about his hustle double and how hustle was preached to the team throughout spring.

Very refreshing to hear.

I agree with the idea that a different mix of guys is likely to produce better results, and I think you're dead on with your earlier comment to that effect. There's a tendency to throw the baby out with the bathwater, though.

I do think this team is going to need to work in a scary bat or two if they want to be a playoff team. Right now, I'd be content to see the guys we have be content to just focus on getting on base. So far, so good.

Yesterday in the entire game we saw 112 pitches...

A day later thethe is telling us that we are experts at identifying balls and strikes and working deep counts.

Live in the moment

And Seitzers lits into them, I think they saw almost 200 tonight.

This game destroyed 6-10.

No one will argue that but if your whole lineup for the most part is like that, it's gonna get torn up by top pitching, so easy to pitch too.

The Braves need a couple power hitters moving forward but i like the small-ball approach.
