McCann currently hitting .278 with an .833 OPS. Try again.
He is getting his hits when he puts it in play. There is no way around that. He is swinging a TON and at bad pitches. That's way more of a factor than a few hard hit balls right at someone.
Phew. If Nick hadn't gotten a hit there he'd have fallen below the Mukaki line. Not a very appealing place.
And was hitting .280 coming into today. Could he be more selective? Sure. But if not for horrendous bad luck, you wouldn't have any grounds to call him out, as he would have been hitting well over .300 with a .500+ SLG.

Wow.
Give me a min to let the surprise overwhelm me. I stand corrected. 6 games in and I am a complete believer now.
Hitting around his career numbers is surprising somehow?
Beautiful.
His ass?
I didn't call him out. I said that he was NOT swinging a hot bat, which is true.
Chris Martin is looking like a stud. Can he go 6 innings?
