Jurassic World trailer looks pretty cool

Looks like Jurassic Park meets deep blue sea. Except without the threat of supersmart sharks getting into the ocean, and you know the reason they tinkered with the Dinosaur was money, not to find a cure for alzheimers.

I don't think this is going to be necessarily a clever movie by any means, but it definitely has the potential to be the funnest popcorn movie of the summer.

I don't expect it to be even a little bit clever. I expect it to be entertaining. Same idea as marvel movies. I don't think they're feats of cinematic wonder, I find them entertaining.

Is there another comedy film in theaters? Asking as someone who lives in the sticks.

According to AMC that I used to live by which was huge ( :Sad: ) the only other comedy on national circuit is Get Hard. I assume that's every bit as bad as Paul Blart Mall Cop 2. I find it sadder that Furious 7 was the best seller. How to make a successful film, make several crappy films, have one of the crappy actors die, and then people get all upset and go out and see his "last" film.
 
Avengers was very enjoyable. I get a trend with 3D films being too insane on whirling action scenes.

Civil War is setting up interestingly. Seemingly you have on side A: Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow and on side B you certainly have Iron Man, maybe Hulk, maybe War Machine, probably Ant-Man.

It's hard to say who will be on Tony's side. Hulk would be a logical choice since Banner would think Hulk needs to be under control somewhat but he wasn't in the story in the comics and his ending in Avengers 2 makes it seem he wants to go underground. Thor won't be on the movie as welll and he'll be dealing with oncoming Ragnarok.

Black Panther is supposed to be in this and it's rumored that he was supposed to take Spidermans spot in the story. But with Marvel getting to use Spiderman now it will be intersting to see what changes, if any, they make regarding that.

Well I think Black Panther will be inbetween in Civil War, as IIRC Spiderman isn't supposed to be in the picture until Infinity War. Could be wrong of course.

And Hulk played a role in Civil War, his rampage in LA or wherever was what started the directive.

And Ragnarok, you have to wonder if that's referring to the character, not the event.

No it was a smalltime villian/hero fight where the villan exploded and blew up a school that killed people that started the event. Some things led up to it like the Hulk rampage. But that resulted in the Illumanati to send Hulk into space and do Planet Hulk, etc while Civl War was going on.

And I may be mistaken but I think they talked about it being the event and not the character. Personally I think Thanos has his hand in the destruction of Asgaurd when he goes for the Tesseract which is the Space infinity gem. And I think Thor will put the remaining asguardians on earth like he did in the comic and they will evetnually help fight in the Infinity War.

I think you're right, but it would be a fun twist. Ragnarok was important as a tool in Civil War. But that would be a lot to include. Also reading case list for Captain America Civil War, it looks like a mini-avengers film with a prominent role for Iron Man, and role sfor Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, and more.
 
There's been releases of images from Hateful Eight. I'm not looking at it too much and i won't link them cause stop being lazy.

Mad Max coming out Thursday. I'm screaming like a school girl.

Embargo was lifted today, 30-0 in reviews at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Mad Max kicked serious ass. Only thing that could've made it better, in my opinion, was if Gibson had returned as Mad Max (of course, then it would've never got off the ground, most likely). Hardy was okay (I usually love his roles), but was the only thing in the film that even resembled a flaw/weakness.

Disagree on your assessment of Hardy, I think he was flat out amazing in it. If there as a film weakness it was that it was driven by 2 characters and the remaining characters were heavily involved but not really. I mean they introduced a slew of characters, but none of them had huge parts enough to know their names solidly. Charlize Theron was badass in it though. Definitely stole the show. But Tom Hardy was great. The overall change in his character, from the "feral" angry drifter to the leader of the pack who finally conquers his demons.
