Anti-Vaxers

I don't get this group. Listen I get caution when it comes to what you put in your body, and your childs. I get it. But vaccines have been around for ages.

It's been proven over and over again that measles vaccine doesn't cause autism, but you still hear about it. Yet it's virtually been confirmed that that Disney Land outbreak was caused by an unvaccinated child.

I don't believe the government should mandate vaccines. But I believe that government and private businesses can refuse service for the unvaccinated. I think schools and other places of business should have th eability to request medical records to confirm as well. No public school, parks like Disney World can sue you for liability if you cause an outbreak, etc. People should stop being stupid about things like this. Is there a more first world problem than not wanting to vaccinate your child to stop a disease we eradicated? If there's a medical reason they can't be vaccinated that's fine, that's the reason why herd vaccinations work. It thins out the potential hosts, which helps the odds for the people who can't get the vaccine.

Anyway, if there's anyone on the other side or who just wants to talk, feel free to do so. I consider this about as debatable as global warming.

I'm highly skeptical of the for-profit medical community. ****, that's an understatement. I'm also kind of obnoxious about what my kids eat, drink, and otherwise ingest. That's probably an understatement, too. I think I understand the anti-vaccine point of view, I just vehemently disagree with it. In my experience, most people preaching it don't really comprehend the numbers involved, and are prone (as many humans are, on a variety of fronts) to irrationality.

Saw this shared a few times on my facebook news feed today.
