On the Reds broadcast they said the call was "confirmed" by the replay official.

Fredi didn't challenge on those grounds, he challenged on the grounds of blocking the plate.

Why didn't Bobby challenge AJ smply being safe? He got his foot in before the tag was applied. It was a force play, but the catcher didn't have his foot on the plate.

Shouldn't have challenged the blocking of the plate, because it was obvious the catcher didn't. The tag is what should've been challenged.

But why should that even matter? You shouldn't be forced to only challenge one thing.

An umpire looks at a replay to see if the catcher blocked the plate, sees that the runner was safe anyway, but then is forced to call him out because the manager didn't claim he was safe?

That is a stupid system.

Is it still Horacio Ramirez who does the instant replay stuff for the Braves (the guy at the other end of the phone)? Whoever it is, I think it's more his fault than Fredi's.

Miller's settled in nicely. After throwing about 25 pitches in the first inning I didn't think he'd make it to the sixth.

IMO he's our best starter and it's not particularly close right now.

I don't disagree with you, I watched that play and can see that he got his foot in. With this ****ty system in place and how you have to be "specific", that dope should've just challenged that he got under the tag.

Agreed. He has been better than advertised. Easily best stuff on staff.
