Around Baseball 2015 Edition

I'd gladly take Porcello over Cespedes.

Depends, I'll take Cespedes at 9 mil per over Porcello at 22.....that's not even debatable. It'll depend on what Ces gets in free agency, if he signs for 13-15 mil per, I'll take him. They have been similar players in terms of WAR over the last 3 years, Ces has been slightly better but still close.

Cespedes is going to get MUCh more than 9 million. POtentially double that.

I think I've always been told WAR isn't great for pitchers (IIRC).
Is Porcello making $22mil?
I still think he's getting better, too. Maybe I'm wrong.

Syndegaard's delivery reminds me of Tommy Hanson.

That makes me sad.

The meteoric rise and even faster fall of Hanson was something to see. Looked like he was going to be a top 5 pitcher in baseball to not even being in the game. Amazing.

But, he was better than Medlen!

Yeah he'll be fine. Pitching through a back injury, but also dealing with terrible luck.

Though, If i was nats I would sign Zinm and consider dealing Stras.

Stras just seems like one of those guys that you will always be holding your breath that he doesn't get hurt. Too bad because if this was in a video game and could turn injuries off he would be incredible.

Just read that Barry Bonds is getting ready to file charges against the league for collusion now that his obstruction of justice case was overturned.

I hope he wins -- that he wasn't able to get a job in 2008 purely on the merits of his 2007 performance and talent is/was absurd.

Why would you hope Bonds wins? He wasn't able to get a job because he was A) a cheater, B) an asshole, and C) under or about to be under indictment. If I had owned a team I wouldn't have wanted to deal with the fallout had he been convicted.

I'm still holding out hope that Barry gets his unjustly earned records stricken from the books. And that he ends up meeting a similar fate as fellow Bay Area steroid abuser Lyle Alzado.
